Our Mission

A weekend home for raising the next generation.

For more than fifteen years, the ICCSC Weekend Islamic School has welcomed children from across South Charlotte and Fort Mill to learn, play, and grow in their deen. We pair caring, qualified teachers with a curriculum that balances the Qur'an, Islamic Studies, and the Arabic language — taught in a warm, family-style environment.

Our goal is simple: to send each child home a little more grounded in their faith, a little stronger in their character, and excited to come back next Sunday.

"The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim."

— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sunan Ibn Mājah, Hadith 224
What Your Child Will Learn

Three pillars, woven together.

A balanced program that grows every Sunday — Qur'an for the heart, Islamic Studies for the character, and Arabic for the connection to revelation.

Qur'anic Foundation

Tajweed, recitation, and progressive memorization — taught patiently, level by level, so each child builds a real, lasting connection with the Book of Allah.

Islamic Studies

Aqeedah, Seerah, the lives of the Prophets, manners, and everyday fiqh — bringing the Sunnah to life in age-appropriate, story-rich lessons.

Arabic Language

Reading, writing, vocabulary, and conversation — building the language skills that make the Qur'an and prayer truly meaningful.

Life at School

A Sunday at ICCSC.

Halaqas, hands-on activities, hot lunches, and a community of friends — moments from recent school years.

The Curriculum

A program designed for the long road.

Every Sunday, students rotate through three subject blocks — each delivered by a teacher who specializes in that area.

Qur'an

Mastery of Recitation, with Tajweed.

Students start where they are — from the Arabic alphabet through fluent recitation of the Mushaf — and progress at a pace that respects each child's ability.

  • Letter recognition and Noorani Qā'idah for new readers
  • Tajweed rules introduced through guided recitation
  • Memorization of the short surahs and selected du'as

Islamic Studies

Building Character, One Story at a Time.

From the basics of belief to the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ, our Islamic Studies block is rooted in stories — the most natural way for children to absorb values that last.

  • Aqeedah (beliefs) and the five pillars
  • Seerah and the lives of the Prophets (peace be upon them)
  • Akhlaq, adab, and everyday fiqh for kids

Arabic Language

Arabic for Lifelong Learning.

Far more than rote vocabulary — our Arabic block builds reading, writing, and conversation skills so that prayer and Qur'an become living, understood acts of worship.

  • Letter formation, sounds, and sight-reading
  • Themed vocabulary tied to home, school, and salah
  • Simple conversation, dictation, and writing practice

Common Questions

Everything parents ask.

Who can register, and which session is right for my child?
We offer two Sunday sessions for ages 5 – 15: the morning session runs 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM and the afternoon session runs 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Pick whichever fits your family's schedule. Both new families and returning students are welcome — new students may be placed by reading level after a brief orientation.
What if my child has a learning difference or special needs?
We welcome children of all backgrounds and abilities, and our teachers are accustomed to students learning at different paces. That said, we are a small weekend Islamic school and are not staffed for one-on-one aides or intensive behavioral support. If your child requires significant accommodations or close supervision to learn safely alongside peers, please email us before registering — we'd rather have an honest conversation up front about whether our program is the right fit than disappoint anyone after the year begins.
How does payment work?
You can choose monthly auto-billed tuition (September – May) or pay the full year at registration. Registration fees, uniform, and optional pizza are added at checkout.
Is the uniform required, and what does it look like?
Yes. The uniform is traditional modest Islamic attire — an abaya with hijab for girls and a thobe for boys — to honor the spirit of the school and create a sense of belonging. Returning students may reuse last year's uniform if it still fits.
What if my family needs financial assistance?
Families currently receiving SNAP / food stamps or Medicaid qualify for half-price assistance on all fees (with proof). Submit a copy of your benefits letter or card and we'll send your private registration link. See full details →
Can I register after the school year starts?
Yes. Late registrations are welcome any time during the year — your first month's tuition is collected at sign-up and the monthly subscription continues from there.
How does the pizza program work?
It's optional and weekly — students get a hot lunch (pizza slice, drink, and chips or fruit) on each school Sunday. You can opt in per child at registration.
Where is the school held?
All classes are at the ICCSC Masjid & Community Center in Fort Mill, SC — serving the South Charlotte / Ballantyne area since 2008.
